Dear Family Members,

As you may be aware, there is currently a rise in active COVID positive cases throughout our state. With those cases, we see more positives in our building.

Benjamin Hart, CEO of Bloomington-based Heritage Operations Group:
“Nursing homes are a reflection of the community in which they are located–As cases continue to rise in downstate Illinois counties, so do cases in nursing homes. We are doing everything in our power to prevent the outbreaks around us from entering our facilities,” Hart continued. “Our dedicated staff members take their responsibility very seriously to protect our elderly, frail residents who are the most susceptible to COVID-19. Despite our best efforts with enhanced visitor restrictions, vigilant PPE use, and frequent testing of staff, the coronavirus can still sneak past our doorstep. It is a good reminder that we all have a responsibility as community members to protect our elders — wear masks, social distance, and wash hands.”

New COVID-19 information is reported to us daily through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). We continue to monitor residents and staff for temperature and symptoms. Additionally, we continue to follow our stringent infection prevention measures such as universal masking for staff, masking requirements for residents while outside of their room, appropriate staff use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hand hygiene protocols, social distancing, and multiple screenings for temperature/symptoms of staff during each shift.

As always, we are here to help our residents keep in touch with their loved ones through virtual visits using either Facetime or Skype. Please call us so we may help coordinate this. They love to hear from you!

We cannot thank this community enough for all your support, love, and prayers for our employees and residents. Please help us in the fight to reduce COVID-19 by visiting the CDC website to see how you can help prevent its spread.

  • Remember to wear a mask
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Maintain good social distancing
  • Don’t gather with large groups

As always, I am available for any questions or calls at any time. Please feel free to call the facility if we can be of assistance. We will continue to make regular updates, so please feel free to use this page.
