We work with both agencies to prevent and reduce the risk of the virus in accordance with the CDC guidelines. Upon confirmation of the above positive test results, we follow a specific COVID-19 plan and move residents who have tested positive to specifically designated areas of the building based on their positive or pending test results and their symptoms. Additionally, we continue to follow our stringent infection prevention measures such as universal masking for our staff, masking requirements for residents while outside of their room, the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hand hygiene protocols, social distancing, and multiple screenings for temperature/symptoms of staff during each shift. Buildings are also conducting routine COVID-19 testing for staff.

Dear Family Members,

As you may be aware, there is currently a rise in active COVID positive cases throughout our state. With those cases, we see more positives in our building.

Benjamin Hart, CEO of Bloomington-based Heritage Operations Group:
“Nursing homes are a reflection of the community in which they are located–As cases continue to rise in downstate Illinois counties, so do cases in nursing homes. We are doing everything in our power to prevent the outbreaks around us from entering our facilities,” Hart continued. “Our dedicated staff members take their responsibility very seriously to protect our elderly, frail residents who are the most susceptible to COVID-19. Despite our best efforts with enhanced visitor restrictions, vigilant PPE use, and frequent staff testing, the coronavirus can still sneak past our doorstep. It is a good reminder that we all have a responsibility as community members to protect our elders — wear masks, social distance, and wash hands.”

New COVID-19 information is reported to us daily through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). We continue to monitor residents and staff for temperature and symptoms. Additionally, we continue to follow our stringent infection prevention measures such as universal masking for staff, masking requirements for residents while outside of their room, appropriate staff use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hand hygiene protocols, social distancing, and multiple screenings for temperature/symptoms of staff during each shift.

As always, we are here to help our residents keep in touch with their loved ones through virtual visits using either Facetime or Skype. Please call us so we may help coordinate this. They love to hear from you!

We cannot thank this community enough for all your support, love, and prayers for our employees and residents. Please help us in the fight to reduce COVID-19 by visiting the CDC website to see how you can help prevent its spread.

  • Remember to wear a mask
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Maintain good social distancing
  • Don’t gather with large groups

As always, I am available for any questions or calls at any time. Please feel free to call the facility if we can be of assistance. We will continue to make regular updates, so please feel free to use this page.

Dear Family Members,

It is an ever-changing healthcare climate as the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues in our cities and across the country. We aim to keep you informed as new information that affects our residents materializes at Regency Care regarding COVID-19.

We were informed that a second employee in our building has tested positive for COVID-19. We understand how this may cause you to worry about the health and safety of your loved one. Our leadership team has moved quickly to notify the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, and we will follow their protocol for additional infection prevention measures moving forward.

· Our caregiving team is taking the initiative and extra precaution measure to isolate everyone on the hall where the infected employee last worked

· We continue to monitor residents every 4-8 hours (on the affected hall) for temperature and symptoms (A seven-day timeframe from exposure to symptom is the primary window of presenting symptoms after exposure.)

· staff will continue to screen prior to the start of their work shift for their temperature and any symptoms

Some families have inquired about testing residents in our building. Regency Care does not make that call. The decision to test a resident is at the discretion of that resident’s physician or as directed by the county health department. If you would like to have your loved one tested, please talk to your physician and keep us in the loop of communication.

New COVID-19 information is reported to us daily through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Thus far, the plans that have been put in place, such as restricting visitors, screening employees, and the Universal Masking Policy, were to keep the virus out of our building. We will continue with these measures for the same reasons.

We also post updates online through our website and/or Facebook page for additional access to our resident families. In addition, if we have determined that your loved one did have contact with the affected employee on the last shift worked, we will be contacting you directly.

We believe that communication is key to effectively educating and informing our residents, staff, and the community about how we are taking precautions to protect the health of our residents and staff and to prevent further spread of COVID-19.

Thank you for choosing us to care for the health of your loved one. Have peace of mind knowing that our Regency Care team remains committed to caring for your loved one under all circumstances with great passion.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Gratefully,
